BEETROOT PARATHA/ FLATBREAD
All in one paratha/flatbread for kids and elders too. Such vibrant parathas are healthy, nutritious and perfect for lunch box recipe!
- INGREDIENTS
🔸1 cup - beetroot (grated)
🔸1 & 1/2 cup - wheat flour
🔸1/2 inch - ginger
🔸1 clove - garlic
🔸1 tbsp - oil
🔸1/2 tsp - garam masala
🔸water (as required)
🔸ghee (as required for toasting)
🔸salt (to taste)
- INSTRUCTIONS
1. Grate the washed beetroot & add it to a pan with green chilly, ginger, garlic, pepper and garam masala and saute for about 5-6 minutes on medium-low heat until tender. Do not overcook.
2. Transfer everything to a blender and blend it to a smooth puree. Do not add water while blending.
3. Take wheat flour in a bowl and add cumin powder, salt, some chopped coriander & beetroot puree, drizzle 1-2 tsp oil and knead it well.
4. keep the dough aside for 15 minutes and divide it in small parts (as you prefer).
5. Sprinkle some wheat flour on the surface, flatten the ball & roll it to a paratha making it slightly thicker than a regular chapati.
6. Transfer the paratha to a tawa/pan on a medium to high heat and flip the paratha when you see bubbles over it.
7. Toast the paratha until brown and apply some ghee if you are a ghee lover.
8. Serve the paratha with curd or a chutney or any kind of sauce or dal you like.
TIP: You may add 1-2 tsp curd to make the dough soft.
