SEMOLINA POPPY SEEDS ENERGY BITES

These nourishing & yummy energy bites are so easy to prepare and perfect for those hunger pangs we get all day


 Adding poppy seeds to these laddu's was a spontaneous decision however

 it turned out soo good. These energy bites are satisfying and nourishing

 for your body. They texture is grainy and melt in mouth.


 ⌚Prep: 5 minutes         Cook: 15 minutes        Total Time: 20 minutes 


  • INGREDIENTS:

🔸 2 cups - semolina/rava
🔸 1 cup - dry coconut  (grated)
🔸 1/2 cup - jaggery  (powdered)
🔸 1/2 cup - dry dates  (powdered)
🔸 2 tbsp - poppy seeds
🔸 2 tbsp - pumpkin seeds  (optional)
🔸 2 tbsp - almonds  (powdered / roughly crushed)
🔸 2 tbsp - pistachios  (powdered / roughly crushed)

🔸 1 tbsp - ghee


  • INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Heat a pan or kadhai and dry roast poppy seeds and keep aside. In that
    same pan add ghee and roast semolina/ upma rava till you get a slight
    golden brown colour and then add coconut. Saute for 5 minutes more.

2. Add all the ingredients to the bowl including semolina, coconut &
    combine it well. 

3. Add this mixture back to the pan and toss it for another 5 minutes and
    remove to the bowl.

4. After the mixture is mildly cool, start rolling the mixture in your hands
    and make balls or laddoos. Insert 1-2 pumpkin seeds in each
    laddoo/ball for that decoration (optional).



     
TIP: Roast the semolina / rava well on low to medium heat till it turns aromatic.
